My Cellular Upload Is Faster Than My Download Speed

  • #one
My internet package details minimum download speeds of 1mbps with maximum speeds of 2mbps. For some reason I accept not been getting those speeds at all. Infact, I have been getting 1mbps UPLOAD speeds and 0.xx-0.50mbps download speeds. Is in that location whatever reason my upload speeds would exist then much college than my download speeds? I've tried fiddling with my router by changing the DNS (to Google servers), irresolute the wifi channels, connecting directly to my router with an ethernet cable, etc. just nothing seems to exist working. My ISP sent me an electronic mail that their servers show I am getting over 1.2mbps download speeds with a graph visually detailing the speeds, yet I accept non been getting that.

There is no one else connected to my router, I have checked several times, and I don't have any background processes on my reckoner that would bear upon my speeds. At this betoken I have no idea why my speeds are the way that they are. Anyone take any clue what could be incorrect?

(Information technology'south the same on my mobile device too).

See if you can borrow a router for testing purposes equally I suspect that may exist the cause.

And if it isn't, well at least you lot will have eliminated that, so some progress will have been made.

That's messed up. Have you tried plugging straight into the router temporarily to bank check speeds? If wired runs at rated speed so tin can start working thru wireless troubleshooting.

As asked above, what kind of connection?

I tried directly plugging into the router, got the exact same speeds. There is the graph my ISP sent me, showing clearly I am getting over 1mbps internet speeds. However, my actual connection speeds say much different.

Might try a new cable between router and modem or endeavor plugging directly into modem and rechecking. bad cable would explicate why speed to the modem is showing faster than speed at the router.

Would say to update drivers but since both wired and wireless are both doing it probably wouldnt help.

Are you Certain that no 1 else is leaching your wireless connection? Is it countersign protected?

I've checked my router status, I'm the but i connected. I've tried turning off all of my wifi enabled devices to make the speed exam as accurate as possible. I have WPA2-PSK password protection on my router.

I just double-checked my connection via an ethernet cable and funny enough it was much better, actually met the minimum speed. And then, I gauge it may be just my router after all, any guesses what may exist wrong with information technology?

Cable to the modem or cable to the router? Cablevision to modem then u have a bad connection between router and modem. Cablevision to router then you accept a wireless issue.

It's cable to router, I figured I take a wireless issue, simply not sure what that event is specifically.

Do you have a wireless bill of fare with external antennae? Disconnect/reconnect those.

Get to device managing director and encounter if the wireless is showing any errors.

Completely uninstall the wireless driver and reinstall latest from manufacturers website.

After all that, go into the wireless settings and walk through each i to come across what options are.
